If The Lights Go Out

Seasonal storms can strike without warning, toppling trees, power lines and making an unsafe environment for you and your family, not to mention the fact that you could lose electricity during any storm. Make sure you are prepared, no matter the season, for storms.
Your cooperative will be on the road immediately to make repairs and to restore your electric service as quickly as possible. If the storm was a major one, and the damage and outages are extensive, we will call on our fellow cooperatives for assistance.

Here is a checklist of items that you will need at your fingertips, should the electricity go out during a storm:

• A battery-powered flashlight
• A battery-powered radio, so you can be abreast of the latest news surrounding the storm
• Extra batteries
• Candles and matches (Never leave burning candles unattended)
• Non-perishable food
• Blankets
• Wind-up clock
• Plenty of bottled water
