“The holidays.” I love everything about this time of year. Just the thought of the holiday season brings a smile to my face and evokes a sense of comfort and nostalgia. Recalling family gatherings and traditions warms my heart and fills my senses.
It’s a time of reflection, and I’m grateful for my own family as well as my co-op family. At JOEMC, we’re driven by a sense of mission and purpose. Our team feels a strong connection to our community and our members because we live here too.
While many of our community-focused programs and activities ramp up this time of year, we have several programs and services in place to help our members year-round. I want to remind you about some of these offerings in hopes you’ll find them beneficial.
We hope you’ll take advantage of downloading our mobile app that empowers you to monitor, manage and pay your electric bill conveniently through your phone or tablet. Another service we offer is FlexPay which is intended to help budget your monthly energy costs. Co-op members can pay for electricity before it’s used, then use the electricity until the credit expires. You’ll receive regular feedback via text and email alerts on your balance during the period paid for. We also offer energy efficiency programs to save you money and energy. Our website’s Energy Center offers appliance energy calculators and the ability to perform an online energy audit of your home.
In addition to helping members save today, we’re focusing on tomorrow and on energy innovation in the future. JOEMC is reshaping our electric grid and the network of resources and technologies that support it for increased reliability, cost-savings, sustainability, and services in our community. Through our power supplier, the co-op participates in a sophisticated energy management platform that carefully coordinates and dispatches resources to meet electricity demand, balance traffic on the grid, and ensure that the power provided is environmentally responsible. By coordinating energy resources like solar, battery storage, smart devices, microgrids, and electric vehicles, we can offset the need to build traditional power generation, resulting in significant cost savings for our members. As your local power provider, JOEMC is committed to meeting and exceeding our local members’ needs. Smartly implementing new resources and offering programs and services to help members save money and better manage their energy use is central to our mission of service and a key part of our vision for building a Brighter Future.
