Teachers, get ready!
We’re getting an early start on Bright Ideas.
Teachers can NOW apply for Bright Ideas education grants. This date change will allow for our educators to have more time to submit their innovate ideas to JOEMC. The Bright Ideas program has been providing grants to local educators for 30 years and we cannot wait to see what is in store for the 2023-24 school year. Teachers can apply online at www.ncbrightideas.com.
Grants are available for K-12 classroom projects in all curriculum areas including art, history, math, reading, science and technology. Educators can apply as individuals or as a team and must include a budget, project goals, implementation plan and description of how the project will engage students and enhance their success.
The Bright Ideas education grant program is a shared initiative of all 26 electric co-ops in North Carolina. Collectively, Jones-Onslow EMC and North Carolina’s electric cooperatives have issued more than $15 million supporting 14,200 projects benefiting well over 3.5 million students statewide. The final deadline to apply is September 15. Interested applicants are encouraged to visit joemc.com for details on submission requirements or contact Krystal Phillips, JOEMC Communications and Community Relations Director, at kphillips@joemc.com or (910) 355-7821.
