JOEMC Announces 2026 Electric Cooperative Youth Tour Winners

Jones-Onslow EMC is proud to announce the four outstanding local students selected to represent our cooperative on the 2026 Electric Cooperative Youth Tour to Washington, D.C.—an unforgettable leadership experience that gives students the opportunity to explore our nation’s capital, learn about electric cooperatives, and connect with peers from across the country.

Sponsored by electric cooperatives across the nation, the Youth Tour has been inspiring young leaders for decades by providing students with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit Washington, D.C. During the trip, students will tour historic monuments and museums, visit Capitol Hill, meet elected officials, and gain a deeper understanding of leadership, public service, and the cooperative business model.

Beyond sightseeing, the Youth Tour offers countless opportunities for personal growth and connection. Students build friendships with fellow delegates from across North Carolina and the United States while developing leadership skills that will benefit them for years to come. Many participants describe the experience as life-changing and one they will never forget.

At Jones-Onslow EMC, we are committed to investing in the future of our communities by supporting educational and leadership opportunities for local students. The Electric Cooperative Youth Tour is one of the many ways electric cooperatives empower the next generation of leaders and encourage young people to become active and engaged members of their communities.

We congratulate Eva Brusaw, Sandi Francis, Brynn Zurlippe, and Matthew Smoot on this incredible achievement and look forward to seeing the impact they will make during their Youth Tour experience and beyond.
