Locally, Jones-Onslow EMC has taken its commitment to powering innovation in schools a step further.

The Bright Ideas grant program funds educators’ creative and inventive ideas to expand learning opportunities for local students. Right here in your community, Bright Ideas has funded student-led gardens, innovative literacy initiatives, cutting-edge classroom technology, and much more.

Teachers in Onslow County, Jones County, and the Topsail area can now apply for a 2026-2027 Bright Ideas grant from JOEMC. Your creative idea could earn you up to $2,000 in funding for your classroom!

The deadline for applications is September 15, but those who submit by the August 15 early bird deadline will be automatically entered to win a $100 Visa gift card.
