Community Programs

Co-op Connections

JOEMC is proud to be an integral part of the communities we serve. That’s why we participate in the Co-op Connections Program, a program that helps you receive discounts on products and services from participating local and national businesses. Find both in one convenient location through the national Co-op Connections Card website.

Please note: You will need to establish a FREE account when you visit the Coop Connections website for the first time to access all of the links below and associated benefits. After establishing the account, you can scroll to the very bottom of the page and print your own Co-op Connections Card.

The website allows you to download and print coupons, see how much you have saved through the program and more. Also, be sure and check out the new deals from featured partners such as coupons.com, Uber and more. We are excited to go the extra mile for our members and help you save money, every day.

You can use your card at 60,000+ pharmacies nationwide to get discounts on your prescription medicine. We have also set up money savings discounts at over 100 local businesses throughout the area. From automotive to dining, clothes to home improvement – there are so many ways to save!

Finding participating Co-op Connections vendors and getting your discount is easy…simply look for the Co-op Connections stickers in windows at local businesses, show your Co-op Connections card, and get valuable discounts.

The Co-op Connections Program benefits members by offering valuable discounts from participating businesses…it benefits those participating businesses by providing FREE marketing and advertising and increasing customer traffic to your location.

All JOEMC members receive a Co-op Connections card and key fob FREE and local participating businesses are listed on the cooperative website (along with the discount they are offering JOEMC members), published annually in our monthly publication, radio and print ads, and featured on display boards at our offices.

No Barriers

Annually, Jones-Onslow provides an opportunity for veterans with disabilities to challenge themselves, overcome barriers and learn that “what’s within them is stronger that what’s in the way.”

JOEMC, in conjunction with one of its financial partners, looks for a disabled veteran from its service area to nominate for the No Barriers Warrior Expedition Program. The program, sponsored by Co-Bank, provides expeditions that mentally and physically challenge veterans on outdoor expeditions through mountaineering, rafting and rock climbing. Co-Bank covers the full cost for participants including meals, gear and travel expenses. Veterans must have VA disability ratings to qualify.

JOEMC seeks a disabled veteran to nominate for one of four, five-day No Barriers expeditions. These expeditions offer veterans an opportunity to challenge limitations (both real and perceived) and to create a network of support that can last a lifetime. For consideration, individual’s nominating a veteran, even if self-nominated, should submit a letter summarizing the veteran’s military background, their VA disability rating, length of military service and why they think attending a No Barriers expedition would be of benefit. Letters may be emailed to Krystal Phillips at kphillips@joemc.com or mailed to Jones-Onslow EMC, attn: Krystal Phillips, 259 Western Blvd., Jacksonville, NC 28546.

Once we receive your request we will be in contact to give you further instructions on the application process. The nomination deadline is April 1.
