Rebates

More powerful solutions than ever exist to help you purchase energy-efficient appliances, high-efficiency heat pumps, and more. And we are continuing to add to our rebate offerings. In the coming months, JOEMC will add rebates for Beneficial Electrifications, EVs, and EV Chargers.

Electric Vehicle (EV) Charger Rebate

As a JOEMC residential member, you can receive a rebate of $250 when you purchase and install a Level 2 electric vehicle (EV) charger for your home. The qualified EV Charger must be new and bought and installed during the program year (the program year began January 1, 2024).

Download the rebate form and follow the instructions for submission. You will be contacted by a JOEMC representative after the rebate form, and additional information (that is required) is received.

Energy Star Appliance Rebate

Appliances have two costs…what it costs to purchase and what it costs to run the appliance. Energy Star certified appliances incorporate advanced technologies that use 10-50 percent less energy and water than standard models. Yes, Energy Star certified appliances may cost more when you purchase them but the money you save on your utility bills will more than make up for the difference in price.

By purchasing appliances that have earned the Energy Star certification you may also qualify for a bill credit from JOEMC. To find out which appliances qualify, click the form below. If you see your appliance listed, fill out the rebate form and return it to one of our offices.

Heating & Cooling Rebate

JOEMC members who are installing an Energy Star rated electric central AC, air-to-air heat pump or a geothermal heat pump are eligible for a heating & cooling rebate from the cooperative. Replacing old heating and cooling equipment with an Energy Star qualified unit can cut annual energy bills by nearly $200. And, by installing an Energy Star high efficiency heat pump in a newly constructed home, you’ll be lowering your electric use and increasing you comfort.

Heat Pump Water Heater (HPWH)

If your electric water heater has been around more than a decade, it might be time for a replacement. When shopping around, take a look at the energy-saving heat pump water heater (HPWH). While they typically cost more than standard water heaters, it can be two to three times more energy-efficient than conventional electric resistance units. And now, JOEMC offers a rebate of $300 for a newly installed HPWH of 55 gallons or less. Click on the rebate form below to learn about rebate details and qualifications.

Powerguard Surge Suppression

Electronics that are sensitive to variations in power voltage have become an increasingly large presence in modern life. That’s why surge protection is so important.

A power surge, or transient voltage, is an increase in voltage significantly above the standard level. If the voltage is high enough, it can turn your electronics into high-tech paperweights. Also, voltage variations over time can cause your electronics to fail prematurely.

What causes power surges? One cause is lightning. If it strikes near a power line, that line can send the energy into your house’s electrical system.

With Jones-Onslow EMC’s PowerGuard surge suppression equipment, your electronics are shielded against damage due to lightning or power surges. JOEMC offers whole-house protection (installed at your meter base outside your home) for major appliances as well as in-home plug-in units that protect your electronics.
